Recently At Bibulous...Condado de Sequeiras arrives!April 2, 2008 90 points - Wine & Spirits - Viña Ijalba, Dionisio Ruiz Ijalba 2003December 15, 2007 "Dark flavors of blackberry and black cherry turn up the volume as the tannins add scents of fennel and char. It's harmonious and simple..." 90 points 90 points - Wine Spectator - 2003 GracianoJuly, 28 2007 "An inky color, thick tannins and dark flavors of smoke, game and licorice distinguish this full-bore red. Powerful, but crisp acidity leaves a clean finish. A rare varietal bottling of this indigenous grape. Drink now through 2012. 1,650 cases made. –TM" - 90 points - Wine Spectator - June, 30 2007 New wines from Viñedos Ithaca!July 1st, 2007 New wines from Bodegas Heredad Ugarte - RiojaSeptember 25, 2006 These are classic Rioja wines, both red and white, that show off the quality of their fruit and the dedication to quality of the winemaker. The 2005 Malvasia Blanca is a white varietal that shows delicate floral notes as well as peach, apricot and quince. Barrel aging helps give it depth and character. The 2001 Martin Cendoya Reserva is the flagship wine and is quite impressive. Again, this wine shows grace, elegance and quality fruit. Try them both!!! Viñedos Ithaca - 2000 Odysseus Tinto - Awarded Priorat of the Year by Wine & Spirits Magazine! This has been one of our favorite wines since we sampled it with Joseph Puig and daughter Silvia at their winery in Priorat. This wine was awarded 93 points by Wine & Spirits and was recognized as the Priorat of the Year for 2004. This amazing duo also makes an incredible Garnacha Blanca (White Grenache) from 80 year-old vines and the ONLY still Pedro Ximenez in the world! The PX vines were found in the same vineyard as the GB and Joseph decided to see what they would produce. Lucky for us! New wines from Priorat and Montsant! We spent several weeks in the Priorat / Monsant region exploring and looking for treasures to bring home. We are very excited to have found three fantastic wineries all with very limited and high-quality wines! We have started working with Sangenis i Vaque and Viñedos Ithaca from Priorat and Gran Mets from Montsant. Rum!Our original focus was solely on Spanish wines; however, after a trip to Venezuela we were introduced to some of the best rums in the world and left with a newfound fascination! The rums from Santa Teresa are (in our humble opinion) some of the top rums ever produced. The 1796 Solera is crafted in the traditional sherry style using a series of ageing barrels producing a smooth, luxurious rum mixed from eight- to 35-year-old batches. Wow! Also, the Rhum Orange is simply fantastic after dinner or mixed in cocktails. |
