 Bodegas AñadasLocated in the heart of Cariñena Denominación de Origen, one of the most historic and newly emerging wine producing areas in Spain, Bodegas Añadas is an exciting and forward thinking winery. Cariñena (“Carallana” or “flat face”) has been an important center of wine production since the Romans and Bodegas Añadas aims to be perceived as the new face, “La Nueva Cara”, of the D.O. Cariñena. The image of Bodegas Añadas is innovative, new and different and its brand “CARE” will connect to the face (“cara”) of Cariñena, its faces, its people, its landscapes etc. The vineyards are planted approximately 600 meters above sea level with a density of planting of about 4,000 vines per hectare. The soil of the vineyards is mainly sandy with a very open texture and many large stones. This allows high permeability to handle the rainfall (350-400 ml/year). The active lime is around (about 10-12%) with a very low amount of organic material (1.5-2.0%). In short, very poor soils but extremely well suited for growing grapes. |
