Martín Berdugo is a family owned and operated winery located near Aranda del Duero dedicated to crafting modern wine from the prestigious Tempranillo varietal. The winery has planted 87 hectares of vineyards that border the Arandilla river where much of the alluvial soil is so rough and rocky that it is difficult to walk in. These stones, like in Chateau Neuf du Pape, help minimize the dramatic temperature shifts between night and day during critical growing periods. To aid in vineyard management and help keep excess moisture off of the fruit the majority of the vines are trellis-trained. Though the winery has enough vineyards to double their production, Martin Berdugo prunes meticulously to ensure that only the premium fruit remains for their wines. Each year has shown improvement over the past!
