2006 Eguren - Liter

Type: Young red

Tasting Notes: Forward cherry fruit dominates the nose, intermingled with aromatics of vanilla from the oak and a classic Spanish dustiness. On the palate there is a sweet attack of cherry fruit followed by a complex and juicy mid-palate with smooth tannins and good grip on the lingering, sweet finish. Very nice indeed.

Other Notes: This comes from an estate vineyard that is found within the Vino de la Tierra Castilla growing region. The El Ribazo vineyard was planted in 1986 with Tempranillo and yields about 3 tons an acre. After a 12 day maceration in stainless steel the wine is moved to American oak barrels to age for four months.

2006 Reinares - Tinto

Type: Young red

Tasting Notes: On the nose lots of baking spices and sweet red cherries with a touch of game. Sweet attack; the palate has loads of creamy strawberryd fruit, baking spice, and a bit of minerals; a touch sanguin on the long, juicy finish (MP).

Other Notes: Also in the Vina de la Tierra Castilla region, the El Comendador vineyard was planted in 1989 with Tempranillo and yields just over 3 tons an acre. After a 15 day maceration and primary fermentation in stainless steel the wine is moved to American oak vats for malolactic fermantation and then on to American oak barrels to age for three months.
