La Uve2005 / 2006 La UveType: Young red Tasting Notes: Sweet, floral notes, smoky blackberry and primary fruit aromas. Medium full on the palate with dusty, blueberry finish. Other Notes: This fifth and sixth vintage from La Uve is produced in the Toro D.O. using 100% “Tinta de Toro” (Tempranillo). The wine is a “joven” or young style wine elaborated without any oak to allow the fruit to fully express itself. Can also be enjoyed slightly chilled (12º C / 54º F). 2005 ArbucalaTasting Notes: The nose shows dark plums, really ripe dark cherry and leather shoes. This wine is rich and ripe exhibiting old vine depth and complexity. Smoky and meaty with hints of cedar. Mouth is dense yet supple with black plums, black berries, licorice and dark cocoa. Firm but not hard. Enjoyably complex. (MP) Other Notes: The winery was very excited about their “La Uve” project and was even more excited when they started working to create a premium version from the some of the select vineyards. This special wine is made with Tinto de Toro (Tempranillo) grapes from vineyard between 60 and 100 years old then aged in American oak for 6 months. Amazing! 2004 La Uve - BarricaType: Semi-crianza, aged red Tasting Notes: Licorice, mint and cherry blossom mixed with blackberry and candy necklace aromas. Spicy, cinnamon oak and vanilla notes. Dusty tannins and well balanced. Other Notes: This wine is created from select 100% “Tinta de Toro” (Tempranillo) grapes and barrel aged for 5 months. The oak treatment provides a bit more depth and complexity to the wine. |
